| Most patients come to Antalya for their teeth. They come back for everything else. |
When British patients first book their treatment with us, they’re thinking about their smile. By the time they fly home, a great many of them are already thinking about when they’ll come back — and not just for dental work.
Antalya is one of the Mediterranean’s finest cities, and Lara is arguably its finest neighbourhood. The sort of place where you can walk out of a dental clinic, take a ten-minute walk and find yourself on a long sandy beach with a cold drink in your hand. The food is genuinely excellent, the weather is reliably brilliant from late April through to October, and the historical sites are so impressive they’d make the guidebooks even if there weren’t a single dentist in the city.

Combining dental treatment with a proper break isn’t a compromise. For most of our patients, it turns out to be one of the best decision they could made.
Getting to Antalya from the UK
Antalya is well connected to the UK, with direct flights operating from a good number of British airports throughout the spring and summer season. Most patients are in their seat within 20 minutes of leaving home and touching down in Antalya in under four hours.

Lara: Where Our Clinic Is
Lara sits on the eastern edge of Antalya, about 12 kilometres from the city centre. It’s an upscale, well-established neighbourhood — the kind of area with proper restaurants, good hotels at a range of price points, and a beach that stretches for kilometres without ever getting uncomfortably crowded.
Our clinic Our Dentist Abroad is in the heart of Lara, in a villa rather than a clinical block — which sets the tone rather nicely. The Lara Beach is less than ten minutes’ walk from our front door. On days when you’re not in the chair, that’s an enormously convenient thing.
| For post-surgical rest days, there are few better places on the Mediterranean than a beach within walking distance of your clinic. The sun, the sea air and the slower pace genuinely help with recovery. |
Where to Stay in Lara
Lara is well served for accommodation at most price points, from smart four and five-star hotels right on the beach to smaller, comfortable guesthouses a short walk from the seafront. A few things worth knowing:
Most of the larger hotels operate on an all-inclusive basis, which many of our patients find enormously convenient — particularly in the days immediately after treatment, when you want decent food and cold drinks available without having to go out and find them. Soft foods are a practical consideration in the first 24 to 48 hours after certain procedures, and the better hotels are always happy to accommodate specific requests.
We work with several hotels within walking distance of the clinic and are happy to recommend options at different price points. Just ask your patient coordinator — arranging accommodation is what we do.
Antalya’s Old Town: Kaleiçi
Kaleici is Twenty minutes by taxi from Lara, Kaleiçi is one of the best-preserved Roman and Ottoman old towns in the Mediterranean. The narrow cobbled streets, the Roman harbour, the Hadrian’s Gate, the mix of mosques and churches and crumbling stone mansions — it’s the sort of place where an afternoon wanders into an evening before you’ve quite noticed.
For patients recovering from implant surgery and looking for gentle activity rather than a beach, Kaleiçi is ideal. There’s good food, proper coffee, interesting shops, and the kind of architecture that makes you feel you’ve actually been somewhere, rather than just sat by a pool.

A Sample Seven-Day Dental Holiday
For patients combining veneer or crown treatment (typically five to seven days) with a proper break, here’s how a week in Lara might look:
| Day 1 | Arrive at Antalya Airport, transferred to hotel. Rest, unpack, early evening walk to the seafront. Good dinner. |
| Day 2 | First clinical appointment: full assessment, 3D scan and face-to-face consultation with your specialized dentist. Treatment planning confirmed. |
| Day 3 | Treatment begins — tooth preparation and temporary restorations fitted. Afternoon free. Gentle stroll on Lara Beach or a visit to Kaleiçi old town. |
| Day 4 | Laboratory day — your restorations are being made. Full free day. Day trip to Perge or Aspendos, or simply a day on the beach. |
| Day 5 | Trial fitting and adjustments. Shape, colour and bite refined. Another afternoon free. |
| Day 6 | Final restorations placed. Photographs taken. Written documentation prepared. Celebratory dinner. |
| Day 7 | Departure day. Transfer to airport with full treatment summary, aftercare instructions and, if relevant, implant passport. Home by evening. |
Implant treatment follows a slightly different schedule — three to five days for the first visit — but the same principle applies: there’s always time to see something, eat well, and take proper advantage of being somewhere rather wonderful.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Lara the right area to stay in, or should I stay closer to Antalya centre?
For our patients, Lara is almost always the better choice. It’s where our clinic is, the beach is genuinely excellent, and the restaurants and hotels in the area are well suited to the sort of relaxed break that works well around dental treatment. The city centre and old town are easily reached by taxi in twenty minutes when you want a change of scene.
Is Antalya safe for solo travellers and couples?
Yes, very much so. Antalya is a major international tourist destination with well-established infrastructure for visitors. Lara in particular is a calm, upscale neighbourhood. Our patient coordinator is available at all times during your stay and can help with anything that comes up.
What’s the best time of year to come?
May and June are our personal recommendation — reliably warm and sunny, the sea is swimmable, and the tourist crowds are still manageable. September and October are also excellent. July and August are peak season: very hot and busy, which some patients enjoy enormously and others prefer to avoid.
Can I bring a friend or family member with me?
Absolutely — and many of our patients do. A companion makes the trip considerably more enjoyable, particularly on the free days between appointments. We can help with accommodation for two and make sure the itinerary works for both of you.
What if I want to extend my stay beyond the treatment period?
Many patients do exactly this — particularly those combining veneer or crown treatment with a week’s break. Let your patient coordinator know and we’ll factor it into the accommodation recommendations. There’s certainly no shortage of things to do, and the extra days tend to be rather well spent.
