| We’ve all seen the headline price — £150 per veneer — and wondered: what’s not in that number? Here’s exactly what our packages include. And what they don’t. |
Price transparency is one of the areas where dental tourism has a genuinely mixed reputation. Some clinics publish a headline rate and then build in consultation fees, diagnostic charges, material upgrades, medication costs, and transfer fees that quietly inflate the final bill. Others include everything upfront and charge exactly what they quoted.
The difference matters — not just financially, but in terms of what it tells you about a clinic’s overall approach. A clinic that is clear, specific and comprehensive about what’s in the price is usually clear, specific and comprehensive about everything else too. One that buries charges in footnotes tends to operate the same way clinically.
This guide tells you precisely what is and isn’t included in an Our Dentist Abroad treatment package, lists the eight questions you should ask any clinic before booking, and gives you a worked example of the total cost of a typical week-long veneer trip — flights, hotel, transfers and all.

The 8 Questions to Ask Any Clinic Before Booking
Before you commit to any dental clinic in Turkey — including ours — there are eight questions worth asking in writing. The answers will tell you almost everything you need to know about how transparent and reliable a clinic is.
| # | Ask this | Why it matters |
| 1 | Is the 3D CBCT scan included in the quoted price? | Implant planning without a 3D scan is inadequate — but some clinics charge £150–£300 extra for it. |
| 2 | Are temporary restorations included? | During the lab period (typically Day 4), you need temporaries. Some clinics charge extra for these. |
| 3 | Is airport transfer included? | Arriving in a new country after a long flight and having to organise your own transport to Lara is an unnecessary stress. |
| 4 | What implant brand will be used — and is it confirmed in writing? | Generic or unbranded implants are significantly cheaper to purchase than Straumann or Nobel Biocare. You need to know which you’re getting. |
| 5 | Are there any diagnostic fees charged separately? | Consultations, X-rays, photographs — some clinics charge for each of these as separate line items on the final bill. |
| 6 | Is medication post-surgery included? | After implant surgery, you’ll typically need painkillers and antibiotics. Ask whether these are provided or whether you pay separately. |
| 7 | Is the written guarantee included — and what does it actually cover? | A verbal guarantee means nothing. Ask for the document and read the exclusions before agreeing to treatment. |
| 8 | Are there any charges not in the original written quote? | The simplest question of all — ask it directly and in writing. A trustworthy clinic will give you a categorical answer. |
Our Transparent Pricing Policy
At Our Dentist Abroad, we operate on a simple principle: the price we give you before you travel is the price you pay. No upgrade charges for the material we’ve already specified. No separate consultation fee once you arrive. No surprises on the final bill.
Every patient receives a written, itemised quote before agreeing to treatment. This quote specifies: the exact treatment, the material (including brand for implants), the number of teeth, what’s included, and the total in sterling. If anything changes on arrival — which is rare, and only happens if the clinical assessment reveals something that wasn’t apparent from the initial X-rays — we discuss it with you in full before proceeding. We never add treatments without your explicit agreement.
What a Typical Trip Actually Costs: A Worked Example
To give you a concrete sense of the full picture, here’s a realistic cost breakdown for a seven-day veneer trip from Manchester — covering everything:
| Cost item | Realistic estimate |
| Return flights (Manchester–Antalya, booked 6–8 weeks ahead) | £180–£280 |
| 7 nights hotel in Lara (mid-range, 4-star) | £350–£500 |
| Airport transfer (included in treatment package) | £0 — included |
| Meals and personal spending (7 days) | £200–£350 |
| Travel insurance (1 week, standard) | £25–£45 |
| Treatment: 16 E-max veneers + Digital Smile Design | from £2,400 |
| 3D scan, temporaries, all appointments | £0 — included |
| TOTAL estimated trip cost | £3,155–£3,575 |
| Equivalent UK private cost (16 E-max veneers alone) | £11,200–£19,200 |
| Saving (treatment difference, not including travel) | £7,625–£15,625 |
The figures above are realistic estimates based on typical costs in 2026. Flights vary significantly based on booking lead time — the earlier you book, the better the price. Hotel costs depend on your preference; Lara has excellent options from around £40 per night (comfortable three-star) to £120+ per night (five-star beachfront). We’re happy to recommend options at different price points.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if extra treatment is identified when I arrive?
It occasionally happens that a clinical assessment on arrival reveals something not visible from the initial X-rays — a tooth that needs different treatment to what was planned remotely, for example. When this occurs, we explain the situation clearly, tell you what’s recommended and why, and give you a revised written quote before proceeding with anything. You’re never charged for something you haven’t explicitly agreed to.
Is travel insurance really necessary?
Yes — and we’d say this regardless of where you’re travelling. Standard travel insurance covers medical emergencies, trip cancellation, and lost luggage. For dental treatment specifically, check whether your policy includes cover for dental emergencies abroad. Most standard policies do include emergency dental. Ensure your policy is valid for Turkey and covers the duration of your stay.
How do I pay — and is a deposit required?
We require a small deposit to confirm your booking, with the balance paid on arrival at the clinic. We accept bank transfer and major credit and debit cards. We do not charge card processing fees. Full payment details are provided in your booking confirmation.
Can I get a quote before I book flights?
Yes — and we strongly recommend doing this in the right order: get a written treatment plan and itemised quote from us first, then book your flights once you know the treatment dates. Send us photographs and any recent X-rays and we’ll produce a provisional plan and quote within 24 hours, free of charge. Only after you’re happy with the plan and the price does it make sense to commit to travel bookings.
What if the treatment costs more than quoted when I arrive?
This doesn’t happen. Our quotes are firm. If a clinical assessment on arrival reveals a genuine change of circumstances — something that wasn’t visible from pre-travel imaging — we discuss it with you openly and provide a revised written quote before any additional work proceeds. We don’t present surprise charges at checkout.
| Request a fully itemised quote — no hidden costs, no surprises. Send us your photos or X-rays and receive a complete written breakdown within 24 hours. |
